Wokha: Army divers recover drowned body

Kohima, JANUARY 13 (MExN): Divers from the Army’s Special Forces unit recovered the body of a man, who drowned in the Doyang Dam, Wokha. A press release issued by the Defence PRO informed that the deceased, identified as Sulumo Odyuo (23) of Englan village drowned in the dam on January 12. Following an unsuccessful search operation conducted by the local authorities and State Disaster Response Force, the Wokha district administration sought the help of the Army.


At 6:00 am, Sunday, “divers from the Army Special Forces unit under Spear Corps based at Dimapur commenced the search,” which lasted for around 7 hours. The release said that the muddy depth of the dam made the search difficult but the SF divers were finally able to recover the body at around 1:00 pm.
