WOKHA: Compulsory webcasting & videography in all polling stations

Wokha, February 14 (DIPR): DC& DEO, Wokha, Dr. Manazir J. Samoon, IAS, and General Observer for 39 and 40 ACs, Rajeev Sharma, IAS, held a consultative and co-ordination meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioner and RO, Bhandari and representatives of candidates under 40 AC Bhandari, on February 12 at the ADC’s Conference Hall.


The DC & DEO was updated on the preparedness for the upcoming Assembly Election in the constituency. The DC & DEO highlighted on the district level preparedness and said that there will be compulsory web-casting or videography in all the polling stations to register evidence of bogus voting and misconduct during vote casting. He also cautioned that legal provisions will be sought in cases of violations of the Election Model Code of Conduct by any concern individuals or political parties during the election.


The General Observer for 39 and 40 ACs, Rajeev Sharma, IAS, apprised the gathering that any polling stations which are perceived to be sensitive or troublesome will be considered for additional security measures for conduct of free, fair and peaceful election. Calling for active participation in the upcoming election within the ambit of law and order, he advised them to co-ordinate with the officials and make election related queries through the designated officials in the contact numbers which have been made available earlier.


After the meeting the DC& DEO, Dr. Manazir J Samoon and the General Observer, Rajeev Sharma along with EAC and ARO, Bodi Kapfo visited the polling stations at Merapani where they also looked into the security aspect around the border area. The team from Wokha was accompanied by Liaison Officer, Thomas Ezung.
