Wokha, October 22 (MExN): Sensitization programme for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) was conducted by Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA) on October 21 at DC Conference Hall, Wokha.


Diethono Nakhro, State Commissioner for PwDs as the main speaker enlightened the beneficiaries on the various rights, privileges of PwDS.


Khrievono Seletsu Judicial Magistrate, First Class and Secretary Wokha DLSA delivered keynote address. She highlighted that people with disabilities often bears multiple barriers to fulfill societal inclusion and to freely and fully exercise their rights. 


Hence, she emphasized on the need for sensitisation as equally important both to persons with disabilities and others as well, a press release from NSLSA Public Relations Assistant stated.


She also noted that WDLSA organised the programme with an objective to learn the complexities and the critical issues and to explore how we as a society will make a meaningful progress for the welfare of the persons with disabilities.


Earlier, Wokha District Differently Abled Persons Association presented songs while Zuchobeni Ezong, President Lotha Eloe Hoho and W Rhonjamo Lotha, President, WDDAPA delivered short speeches. Advocate Shanchobeni, Project Assistant WDLSA was the programme moderator. Vote of thanks was delivered by Adv Meribemo A Lotha, Retainer Lawyer WDLSA.
