Wokha, July 11 (MExN): Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on July 9 at the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Bhandari.

 

According to a DIPR report, ADC Wokha Mhathung Tsanglao said that Lotha Eloe Hoho and EE, PHED were included as co-opted members for Clean and Plastic Free Zone Wokha.

 

Vice Chairman and DC, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS, welcomed the officers who were recently transferred to Wokha district.

 

The DRDA department, while highlighting its activities in the district under NRLM, stated that the objective of the mission is to reduce poverty by enabling poor households to access gainful self-employment and to help them have skilled wage employment opportunities which will result in upliftment of their livelihood.

 

Reasons for nil result in the HSLC exam 2018 by GHS Longsa and GHS Changsu were deliberated.

 

Chairman, DPDB Wokha and Adviser for Science & Technology, IT & Communication and NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon in his opening remark asserted that DEO Wokha should bring out a detailed report on the performance of the teacher in-charge, the teachers and the status of the mentioned schools, stating that nil result should not be repeated in future.

 

Adviser for Horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan highlighted various agendas on the needs of the 39 Sanis A/C, where it was decided that the concerned departments’ heads will submit their proposals in the next DPDB meeting for approval and action thereof.

 

He also mentioned that the State government will observe Amur Falcon Conservation Week in the district with various activities in the first week of November in the line of celebration of the Mini Hornbill Festival.

 

On the 75 years of GHSS Wokha and its upcoming jubilee celebration, the Chairman said looking out for the interest and progress of the school is a responsibility of all and not just the school management.

 

Mechanical JE and Home Guard District Commandant were asked to give PowerPoint presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
