WOKHA, JUNE 12 (MExN): The District Level Steering Committee meeting for Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight (IDCF) was held at the DC’s chamber on June 12 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, (IAS).
Dr. Zathung, DPO RCH/UIP highlighted on the importance of observing IDCF and informed that as part of the observance various activities would be carried out during the fortnight. A press note from the NHM, Wokha informed that the steering committee members decided to implement several activities in the district during the Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight.
As part of the activities, ORS-Zinc corners will be installed at District Hospital, CHC’s, PHC’s and sub-centers during the IDCF period. Demonstration of ORS preparation and Zinc dosage will be done during VHND by ASHA and ANMs.
RBSK team will demonstrate hand washing as well as distribute ORS-Zinc during the IDCF Period in Schools. Further children found suffering from diarrhea will be given ORS and Zinc for 14 days.
Meanwhile, Medical Officers of all Health Units were informed to keep watch of the occurrence of diarrhea, give prompt treatment and also report such cases immediately.
