Kohima, December 6 (MExN): A workshop on ‘My History Kit’ was conducted for History Honours students of Sazolie College, Jotsoma on December 5. The resource persons were, Shradha Jain and Priyanka Baliyan, from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, who are presently working in collaboration with ‘History Hive’, Pune. They were accompanied by Dr. Chumbeno Ngullie, Associate Professor, Department of History and Archaeology, Nagaland University.
The main objective of the workshop was to demonstrate to the students that the study of history can be interesting and engaging as opposed to the general view that it is a dull and boring subject. The resource persons stated that history needs to be viewed and understood from a wider perspective. They dwelt on the fact that our daily activities and experiences, our thoughts, failures and success are all a part of history.
‘My History Kit’ was provided to all the students and they were made to actively participate through a very intensive and interactive practical class. The students were encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences, and create their own history. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Waluniba Jamir, Vice-principal and Dr. Pushpa Nakhro, Academic Dean, both from the Department of History.
