Training workshop on National Quality Assurance Standards for Adverse Event Following Immunization at CMO’s conference hall, Kohima on June 2.
Kohima, June 8 (MExN): Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima along with District Health Society, NHM conducted a training workshop on National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) for Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) for Medical Officers, CHOs, Staff Nurses, ANMs, LHVs and Vaccinators at CMO’s conference hall on June 2.
A press release from the CMO Kohima office stated that the training was conducted with an aim to familiarise the health workers with the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) and Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) Surveillance system at district and sub – district levels; to understand structures, tools and roles of different stakeholders in the implementation process of QMS for AEFI surveillance and develop district implementation plan for QMS in AEFI surveillance.
Resource person for the training included Dr Sheila Longkumer, SMO (WHO) and Dr Longri Kichu, UNICEF. Participants included Medical Officers, CHOs, Staff Nurses, ANMs, LHVs, Vaccinators and DPMU.
