Nizhny Novgorod, June 24 (IANS): England thrashed Panama 6-1 in a Group G clash of the FIFA World Cup here on Sunday.
Star striker Harry Kane (22nd, 45+1, 62nd minutes) got a hat-trick, two of which came off penalties.
John Stones (8th, 40th) struck twice while Jesse Lingard (36th) also found his name on the scoresheet.
Felipe Baloy entered the history books when he struck Panama’s first ever World Cup goal in the 78th minute.
This is England’s second consecutive win in the tournament and they are virtually through to the next round with six points and a game in hand.
Panama have crashed out after their second consecutive loss.
