World Vision Mon felicitates students, gives career guidance

Mon, June 23 (MExN): World Vision India, Mon Area Program organized one-day career guidance cum felicitation programme for the successful candidates of HSLC & HSSLC exam 2018 from its 21 target villages at Council Hall, Mon Town on June 23.  

C Nyamto Wangsha, National Teacher Awardee 2005 and Bumang Phaiba, president, Konyak Students’ Union were the special guests.  

A press release from Akangtemjen Sangtam, Coordinator, Development Facilitation, World Vision India informed that Nyamto told the students, “Education makes you see the world better but without education you will be just consumers and you may be tempted to engage in corruption.” Therefore, he encouraged them to be educated for life not just for job and be the agents of change.  

Bumang meanwhile challenged the students to develop a strong character and not to shy away from learning but to always keep in touch with books. He urged them to stay away from intoxicants and opium and further encouraged to set priorities, set goals and keep working sincerely to achieve them.  

David (CSAM) felicitated all the students with gifts on behalf of the project.  

Earlier, the welcome address was given by Asenla (CSE), while Temjen Anar (CDF) proposed the vote of thanks and gave a brief overview of the 382 successful students village wise.  

Nobin Molsom (CDF) presided over the programme and Rev Henshak Konyak said a special prayer for the students.
