Xekiye village gets Customary Court building

Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): The Customary Court building of Xekiye village under Rural Development Block, Kuhuboto was inaugurated at a brief function held at court premises on September 19.  

It was stated in a press release that representing the Rural Development Department, Block Development Officer, Phoishe Sema inaugurated the new building in presence of officials of the department and village elders.  

According to Supongchilung, Assistant Engineer, RD Block Kuhuboto, the court house was constructed under the funding of MGNREGA and VDB Grant in Aid.  

Speaking at the gathering of villagers and guests from neighboring villages, Phoishe lauded the villagers for making proper utilisation of the fund and completing the building which is for the benefit and welfare of the entire village. He said government has empowered the villages for the development of respective villages with assistance from the concerned department and therefore it was the responsibility of the village development boards to judiciously utilise whatever fund meant for development and the department will give more assistance to those villages that are sincere.  

Kawoto Aye, head GB of the village also spoke on the occasion while Zhetovi Chophy, VDB secretary of the village presented a report on the construction of the court building.  

Rev. Lutozhe Achumi, pastor Xekiye Baptist Church said the dedication and invocation prayer and Jimikali Jimo, associate pastor pronounced the benediction.
