YouthNet & Asian Paints conduct painting workshop

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): YouthNet, in association with Asian Paints conducted an intensive twelve days professional skilled painting workshop from October 5 to 18.  

The sessions held at Toluvi village, Dimapur were conducted “realizing the facts and issue to tackle the problem of unemployment and to empower the youths to earn a livelihood.”   Project Manager, Temjenmoa Jamir said that the project aimed to inculcate the skills and knowhow in painting, which has helped 13 candidates to become professionally skilled and certified painters.  

With this perspective, the training was conducted to sensitize and empower the youths with the skill sets to fulfill the demand in the construction sector.  

Asian Paints trainer, Wasik said they conducted the training program for the unemployed youths in Nagaland so that they can be trained professionally. Stating that young Naga youths have the potential but they are left untapped, and unskilled, in fact recognizing them, skilling them to be equipped will help in promoting the qualitative aspect.  

Niloto Assumi, one of the beneficiaries, appreciated YouthNet and Asian paints for the opportunity and said “the training was very good.” “Very happy with the kind of training and techniques taught. Earlier it was very hectic and time consuming to paint a small wall but now after the training, it is very easy and less time consuming,’ he added.
