ZDLSA launches door to door legal awareness campaign

Zunheboto, September 23 (DIPR): To increase the extent of legal awareness, the Zunheboto District Legal Services Association (ZDLSA) inaugurated mass door to door legal awareness campaign on September 23 at the District Court, Zunheboto. The association’s first Annual News Letter (2016-17) was also released at the programme.  

Releasing the 'Legal magazine,' the guest of honour Vekhoyi Chakhesang, NCS, Addl. Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto handed over the first copy of the magazine to Neichochiyi Suyie, District & Sessions Judge and chairman ZDLSA.  

The District & Sessions Judge said that the government is trying to promote legal literacy through free legal literature reaching out to all the categories of people. “Whether we like it or not, we must stand with the law by knowing our rights and entitlements,” Neichochie noted. Stating that Zunheboto district is progressing at faster pace in legal literature, he added more achievement will arrive if all the stakeholder departments extend their co-operation.  

The programme was chaired by Atoka K. Achumi, Judicial Magistrate First Class & Secretary ZDLSA and vote of thanks was delivered by Tovi Z. Yeptho, Retainer Lawyer, ZDLSA.
