Zeliangrongs resolve to ‘strictly implement’ resolutions

A consultative meeting convened by Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) in connection with the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election at Zeliangrong Baudi Hall, Jalukie on January 31 resolved to “strictly implement the resolutions of Core Committee of Nagaland Tribal Hohos and Civil Organizations (CCNTHCO), resolutions of NSCN-IM and the Working Committee of six NNPGs and the 11 political parties to facilitate for the final solution of Indo-Naga political issue.”  

The consultative meeting then resolved that anyone from the Zeliangrong community defying the “call of the people shall be considered as anti-Naga and anti-Zeliangrong.”  

According to the Zeliangrong Baudi, people comprising of representatives of different political parties, GBs, village elders, youth leaders, students leaders and Zeliangrong intending candidates, including Chief Minister TR Zeliang, attended the consultative meeting  

While delivering keynote address, Athuan Abonmai, president of Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam Manipur and Nagaland) appealed to all the intending candidates from Tening and Peren assembly constituencies to respect the people's voice “as the voice of people is the voice of God.”  

“Naga aspirations and desire are the Zeliangrong people’s desire and aspirations…Zeliangrongs being the founder of Naga movement, it is our bounden duty to uphold the ideology/vision of apou Jadonang. So this is the most opportune time for Naga people to decide our future unitedly because the deceiving adversaries will betray the Nagas in the name of elections or other unconvincing excuses,” stated Abonmai.
