Ziekezou Sporting Club strives for excellence

Kohima, July 25 (MExN): Ziekezou Sporting Club (ZSC) will be striving for excellence in the upcoming Kohima Football League, 2017, organized by Kohima Town Club, starting next month.   Zeikezou is a colony located in the outskirts of Kohima town; the colony starts from the borders of Don Bosco School and College and slopes down the grand mountains of Kohima village further stretching towards Billy Graham Road and beyond. The colony is comparatively new to many other colonies in Kohima and is home to a cross section of people.   The formation of Ziekezou Sporting Club (ZSC) dates back to 1997, when it was established with the motto "Strive for Excellence" by Dr. Viketoulie Pienyü, a football enthusiast.   The main objectives for forming the ZSC was to promote local footballers to higher level of football, engaging school dropouts and unemployed youngsters into playing football that is more healthy and productive to the society.   The club aims on promoting local talents to higher level of competitive football so that they can find gainful employment through football. Through this, the club hopes to wean young people into healthy recreational habit from the vices of drugs and alcohol, which is rampant in the society.   Over the years Ziekezou Sporting Club has not only built a name for itself, but has also won a niche as one of the reputed local Sporting Club particularly in the discipline of football.   The club has participated in various local football tournaments in the state capital over the years and the Club now enjoys recognition from various sports community in Kohima and even beyond.   In the forthcoming Kohima Football League, Ziekezou SC will be led by Zakietoulie Khrodi as Coach and Ruokuotuolie Yhome as Team Manager.
