Peren, September 24 (MExN): In a belated rejoinder to the news item which appeared on May 9, 2017 under the heading “ZPO-N endorses political solution for Nagas of Nagaland”, the Zeliang People’s Organisation, Nagaland (ZPO-N) today issued a clarification disowning the statement.
“It hereby clarified that some ZPO-N executives along with President and secretary attended the consultative meets on the invitation of the NNPGs at Khehoi designated camp on 8th May 2017, without agenda of its own. As part of our meeting some points were discussed and mutually agreed upon for better understanding among the two entities,” the ZPO-N stated. This was published in some local dailies without our knowledge, it added.
Stating that it had received criticisms from different quarters where the attendees of the meeting were accused of having taken drastic steps without proper consultation from the general masses, the ZPO (N) extended sincere apologies to all those hurt by the statement and hence, disowned the statement.
