The 4th edition of Brillante Piano Festival will take place from September 29 to October 1 at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima.
This was announced by Khyochano TCK, Founder Director, Brillante Piano Festival in the presence of Kohima Deputy Commissioner Shanavas C during a press conference at The Heritage, Kohima.

Shanavas said that the district administration has come forward to support the event with a view to present the positive image of the state capital Kohima. He expressed optimism that the event will present the positive image of the state to the artists coming from within and outside the country while the district administration will be promoting ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,’ the flagship programme of the Central government.

Brillante Piano Festival has been designed with a vision to uplift the community through meaningful engagements that are deliberately planned for social development and promoting the appreciation and music culture in “our respective communities.”

“Our hallmark activities encompass Performance, Pedagogy, and Competition, with a convergence of stellar piano artists, education specialists and experts intended to have a direct impact on the music ecosystem of our state and beyond,” according to Khyochano.

The Brillante Piano Festival is a spectacular, vibrant, and one-of-a-kind music event that is defined by fine piano music, creative engagements and innovative platforms for all musicians and music lovers.

It is the only multi-genre piano festival in the world with Performance, Competition and Pedagogy, all working in beautiful synergy creating an amazing atmosphere that is unique and beautiful.

The strength of Brillante is the purity of its intent to impact society positively through artistic engagements and the support of a genuine community comprising of music houses, organisations, institutes and genuine music lovers spanning all ages, cultural backgrounds, and diversity of people from all over the world.

What earnestly began in Kohima in 2017 to uplift the local community has now become a pan-India movement.

Brillante seeks to act as an agent of social development through deliberate music engagements across all segments of the community.

It plays an integral role in contributing to the music ecosystem in India through collaborations with brands, institutes, artists, organisations and local government bodies.

Brillante exists to act as an agent of social development through deliberate music and creative engagements.

There will be concerts every night for three days. Artists will perform different genres of piano music curated to enthrall the audience and community, the organizer stated.

Various artists from Nagaland will also be performing with the guest artists.

Brillante Piano Festival is the joint effort of Yamaha Music India, Furtados Music India, Musee Musical Foundation, Kohima Music Conservatory, Task Force for Music & Arts, Global Music Institute, Nagaland Piano Teachers Association, Smart City Kohima, Music Academy Kohima, Sound Check NE and Indian Delphic Council.

Brillante Piano competition
The only multi-genre piano competition in India (Western Classical & Jazz), the Brillante Piano Competition will see competitors battle out for the top spots in their respective categories. Category A- 13 to 16 years, Category B-17 years and above and Brillante Jazz Cat- Open age category.

Registration and video submission closes at 12:00 Noon (IST) on August 26.

Rs 1.5 lakh has been set at prize money for the competition. P45 Digital Pianos for all top winners of each category is sponsored by Yamaha Music India. There will also be cash vouchers scholarships at Goa Jazz Academy and Global Music Institute worth Rs 2 lakh.
 
Pedagogy
The organizer informed that the workshops, master classes and practicum at Brillante will make any curious music lover or learner jump for joy.

The event will feature Piano Master class with Dr Adam J Grieg, Academic Co-ordinator of KMMC, Rhythms of Jazz- Pradyumna Singh Manot, Introduction to Jazz Music- Aki Spadaro, Goa Jazz Academy, Learning the Piano Away From the Piano – Priya Chaturvedi and Anuvrat Choudhry, Piano Tuning and Maintenance, Sachin Das, MD, Musee Musical a Chennai, The Unspoken Rules of the Piano Accompanist- Almudena, Global, Music Institute (Piano- Spain, Jatziri (vocals)- Mexico), Nise Meruno, Yamaha Ambassador, Sound Healing & Therapy- Roheth Kandwal, Piano Pedagogy for the Young – Anjili Mata, Academic Head, Trinity college London, India, The Journey of the Piano-Sahil Vasudeva and Zingrin Shishak, Dean of Music, MSSM.

Western Classical will witness Dr Adam Grieg, KMMC, Anuvrat Choudhry, Sahil Vasudeva. Jazz-Paddy and Trio India, Aki Spodario Italy, Almudena Longares Spain and Jatziri Gallegos, Mexico.

There will be special performances by Naga artists, child prodigy and specially abled juniors. It will also feature specially able artist- Writham Changkakoti.
 
Specially Abled Musicians Program
The festival will also feature Specially Abled Musicians (SAM). This is an initiative to celebrate the efforts and spirit of the special needs musician.

By doing so, Brillante aims to sensitize the larger community about our special needs musicians and also share their heroic stories of overcoming odds through the power of music, the organizer informed.
