ENCSU submits representation to H&TE department
Mon, November 3 (MExN): The Polytechnic Institute in Aboi which was inaugurated on November 27, 2020, is reportedly functioning without a single teaching staff.
As such, the students are made to join classes with the other Polytechnic institutes through online mode, the Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) stated in its representation to the Commissioner and Secretary Higher and Technical Education Nagaland on November 2.
In the representation appended by President Serichum J Sangtam and General Secretary Sanglekhamba C Chang, the ENCSU urged the concerned authority to take serious note on the non-deployment of teachers at Aboi Polytechnic, Mon.
While other Polytechnic colleges are functioning with Smart Board and smart class, Aboi Polytechnic is functioning without any educator, the Union stated while adding that it cannot stay silent to such an act of discrimination.
Further, the Union highlighted that the Wakching New Model College which was inaugurated on February 3, 2019 is still lying ‘paralyzed’.
The Union said that it has served multiple representations, but the concerned authority has turned ‘deaf ears and blind eyes’ to its genuine demands.
It sought clarification from the concerned Directorate and the government as to why Aboi polytechnic is still without a single teaching staff, why students were made to take admission without a single educator and why the post creation for Wakching New Model College is still in pending for all these years.
In light of the mentioned discrepancies, the Union urged the concerned authority to look into the matter at the earliest, failing which, the Union said that it would be forced to take its own course of action and that for which, the concerned authority would be held solely responsible.
