Thejao Vihienuo from Chiechama village of the Northern Angami range will lead the new tenure of Angami Public Organization (APO), 2024-2027. 

The new executives of the APO were inducted during a general meeting cum induction programme held at Naga Heritage Village Kisama today. 

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who attended as chief guest of the occasion later took to social media X and congratulated the members and conveyed best wishes to the new President and his team. 

The Chief Minister also urged the executive team to be guardians of our tradition, in which lies the strength of our community. He asked them to raise exemplary leaders for the Nagas in general.

The Chief Minister also released APO Constitution during the programme. 

Former president, Razouvotuo Chatsu, Newly elected President, Thejao Vihienuo, Dr Kepelhousie Terhüja, convener of selection committee also spoke during the programme. 

Other highlights of the event were presentation of audit and general secretary report, oath taking and prayer for new members and special song. The programme was chaired by Neivor Rutsa, Former vice president and Zadeho Rikha pronounced vote of thanks. 

Speaking to Vihienuo, the newly elected President on phone, he asserted that such a responsibility is an honour for, undeserving for him. 

He thanked God and Angami People for putting their trust on him and his team. 

Accepting that challenges are inevitable, the new president said, “We hope all this developments, as per the will of the almighty will enable us to have a successful tenure with the support of my fellow members, and the people in general” while calling for support of the public. 

Vihienuo also informed that there are 13 executive members, 3 each from all the 4 Angami ranges, Southern, Northern, Western and Chakhroma and a representative from Angami Women Organization, a frontal organization of the APO.

The list of the newly inducted members of the APO was yet to furnished during the time of filing the report.
