The Angami Public Organisation (APO) convened its Executive Council Meeting which includes all its Units, viz. the Northern Angami Public Organisation (NAPO), the Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO), the Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) and the Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) and also its frontal Organisations, viz. the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO), the Angami Students’ Organisation (ASU), the Angami Women Organisation (AMK), the Angami Gazetted Officers Khrotho (AGOK) and the Angami Sports Association (ASA) on 8th sept. 2012, at APO Building, whereby, subsequent to prolonged deliberation the following points were decided to be publicised for public consumption and the concerned authorities/organisations to take due cognizance :-
1. That, the APO Appreciates the initiatives taken by the Naga Hoho to bring about understanding and amicable settlement amongst Naga Brothers, especially on the issue of 1st Sept. 2012 incident which had provoked and shown tribal/communal connotations. The timely action of the Naga Hoho in facilitating the Sumi Hoho (SH) and the APO to directly dialogue for calm and peaceful co-existence is a sign of maturity and worthy of the apex Naga Organisation. The APO appeals to the Naga Hoho to further continue striving towards strengthening the bond of brotherhood amongst the Nagas.
The APO further solicits to the Naga Hoho to facilitate bringing about the confronting parties/organisations in the 1st Sept. 2012 at Dimapur incident to directly dialogue and thrash out the differences.
2. While recalling the threadbare and amicable discussion with the Sumi Hoho in the meeting held on 2nd Sept.2012 under the aegis of Naga Hoho, the APO lauds the decision of the Sumi Hoho in constituting a “core Committee” to probe into the 1st Sept.2012 incident. Pertinently, it call upon the Sumi Hoho and its Core Committee to expedite the process of fact finding without any tribal biasness and reveal the names of instigators and culprits involved in the rampage and destruction of properties with vested interest to provoke social unrest, so that the law of the land shall take its own course of action.
3. The APO also impress upon the Government of Nagaland and it agencies particularly the govt. Constituted Fact Finding Committee to the said incident headed by the Mr. Walling to expedite the relevant matter so that immediate appropriate action is taken against the perpetrators for the interest of justice and peace and harmony amongst all citizens in Nagaland.
