Zunheboto, April 15 (MExN): Responding positively to the call of Sumi Hoho, the 5 Assam Rifle have agreed to sponsor the education of the two orphans for the academic session 2017.
Sumi Hoho, General Secretary Vihuto Asumi in a press release said that Nikili of class 1 and Nipulo of class A are siblings whose parents died at the same time in a very unfortunate incident few years back when Nikili and Nipulo were just 4 and 2 years old respectively. “They live with their relatives and study at Immanuel Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto where they are provided scholarship by their school. For the academic session 2017, the 5 Assam Rifle gave the complete sponsorship for the studies of these siblings,” the general secretary informed.
In a brief programme organized in the school on April 10, chaired by the School Principal Vihuto Asumi, the Commandant Col. Sachit Suri gave exhortation to the students and the teachers and handed the cash to two orphans in the presence of the Sumi Hoho officials. Note of gratitude and acknowledgement was delivered by the Vice President of the Sumi Hoho Khehoshe Yepthomi. Special Music was presented by Music teachers Aron Asumi and Akavi Yepthomi. Col. Sachit Suri, accompanied by Lieut. Col. Gopa Kumar also presented the school with the games and sports goods and sweets to the students.
