Directs office bearers outside Centre Chakhesang to report within 48 hours
Phek, October 3 (MExN): The Centre Chakhesang Youth Organisation (CCYO) has directed all village youth organisations under its jurisdiction to “stay prepared and mobilise youth for any eventuality,” as its seven-day ultimatum to the State Government is set to expire on October 4.
In a directive issued to its units and the general public for strict compliance, CCYO President Dode Nakro said that while some of the demands of the Organisation have been fulfilled, efforts are underway to resolve the remaining issues and bring the matter to a “logical conclusion.”
All youth organisations have been directed to stay prepared and mobilise youth for any eventuality. “This includes not only manpower, but all resources should be activated and put on standby with immediate effect,” Nakro said.
As per the directive, no outsiders, including personnel from any governmental agencies, shall be allowed to enter any village under the jurisdiction of the Centre Chakhesang area, Lower Khomi, Middle Khomi, Upper Khomi, Pholami, Gidemi, Sakraba and Porba, with immediate effect until further notice. Any trespassers shall be doing so at their own risk.
While there is no restriction on vehicular movement on the Pfutsero-Phek road or on traditional footpaths (Rüvücho), commuters have been strictly prohibited from taking any photos or videos within the jurisdiction of the CCYO.
All forms of photography and videography within the CCYO’s jurisdiction have been strictly prohibited for all citizens of Centre Chakhesang. No activity inside the traditional villages shall be photographed or videographed unless duly authorised by the CCYO, till further notice.
Further, all CCYO office bearers and village youth organisation officials stationed outside the Centre Chakhesang area have been directed to report to their respective villages within 48 hours.
Mention maybe made here that CCYO staged a rally in Pfutsero on September 28, demanding action in the case involving Vezhoto Hesuh and the seizure of a Great Barbet from Porba village. It issued a seven-day ultimatum to the State Government and the Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, seeking immediate withdrawal of the case against Hesuh, return of the seized bird, and an independent inquiry into its allegation that Rs 1 lakh was demanded for Hesuh’s release. CCYO warned of further action if demands were not met within seven days.
