'Chümoukedima’ reminds CVC

Chümoukedima, November 1 (MExN): Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC) has reminded all concerned people, government departments (for official record), and all NGOs to use the correct nomenclature of the village, which is ‘Chümoukedima’. A press release from CVC chairman, Razouvotuo Chatsu notified all concerned that “originally and historically”, the name of the village was spelled as ‘Chümoukedima’, “which has a significant connotation and meaning in Angami Naga dialect.” However, it said, with the passage of time, the name has been “wrongly pronounced, spelled, and recorded” as ‘Chumukedima’. “Hence, in order to revert back to, and to restore the corrected name, it is hereby declared that henceforth, our village shall be known, called, and identified as ‘Chümoukedima’ for all intent and purposes.”
