Congress stages rally in Kohima to uphold Ambedkar’s legacy

KOHIMA, JANUARY 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today organized a protest rally at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, as part of the ongoing 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan Abhiyan.' The ongoing protest, aims to honor Dr BR Ambedkar and uphold the values of the Indian Constitution, stated a press release issued by the Communications Department, NPCC. 

Speaking at the rally, S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and PCC President, stated that the protest was in strong opposition to the BJP’s remarks against Dr BR Ambedkar, the Father of the Constitution, and their alleged attempts to undermine the Constitution. He emphasized the Congress Party's commitment to protecting constitutional values and ensuring justice and equality for all.

 

Working President, NPCC Khriedi Theunuo, also addressed the gathering, expressing concern that the BJP’s actions was eroding the roots of the Constitution and tarnishing the legacy of leaders like Ambedkar and Gandhi.

He further stated that a Nation like India cannot do justice to rights and aspirations of its people without the Constitution, highlighting the significance of constitutional principles in preserving the country’s unity and democracy.
