Deadline for seeding Aadhaar with ration cards till February 29: (F&CS) Nagaland

Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): The Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) Nagaland today informed that the linking of Aadhaar numbers with all names appearing on the ration card should be completed on or before February 29.

A public information from the FCS Nagaland Director, Chubawati Chang, noted that the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Department of Food & Public Distribution, has advised and directed to complete the validation of seeded Aadhaar numbers under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) of the NFSA (National Food Security Act).

The Ministry also directed that the seeded Aadhaar numbers are correct and belong to the same person(s) as appearing in the ration card details, it said. For this purpose, e-KYC (Know Your Customer) facility is offered by the UIDAI to ensure that the seeded number is a valid Aadhaar number and also belongs to the right person, it informed.

Accordingly, all the members appearing on the ration card should perform and complete e-KYC through the ePoS device installed in FPS (Fair Price Shops) on or before February 29, it added. The FCS Department further said that necessary instructions to perform eKYC will be assisted by the FPS dealers/District Officers or Officials/Integra Micro Systems Ltd.

Besides, all eligible persons who do not possess a ration card under NFSA can avail of the facility by contacting District Offices or subordinate staff in the sub-divisions during office hours for necessary instructions for availing the facilities, it said. As the Aadhaar number is mandatory for availing the facility, all the beneficiaries are informed to perform and complete the seeding, it added.

Information on the national NFSA dashboard on January 24 highlighted that there are 3,30,615 ration cardholders in Nagaland comprising of 47,372 AAY and 2,83,243 PHH cardholders, totaling 11,68,931 beneficiaries.

Out of the total ration cards, 3,21,011 were seeded with Aadhaar covering 11,21,524 beneficiaries, it added.

Accordingly, a total of 9604 cards and 47,407 beneficiaries are yet to be seeded with Aadhaar cards, the dashboard reflected.
