Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): In line with the National Education Policy (NEP), Dimapur Government College (DGC) has launched its Science Stream starting July 2025. Previously offering Arts and Commerce, DGC has now become one of the few multidisciplinary colleges in Nagaland.
The new Science program includes Major courses in Mathematics and Physics, along with Minor options in Chemistry and Computer Science. Additional courses are expected to be introduced in the coming years, stated an update received here.
A dedicatory ceremony was held on July 22 at the college’s Science Block to mark the occasion. DGC Principal Dr T Tiakaba Jamir extended a welcome to the 38 newly enrolled students and faculty members. He expressed special gratitude to Minister Temjen Imna Along for his pivotal role in fulfilling this long-standing need of the college, with support from department officials and DGC stakeholders.
The programme was attended by students, staff, faculty and officials including Temjensoba Longkumer, PA to Minister; IQAC Coordinator Dr Vinyuhu Lhoungu; Moamongla Aier, Associate Prof, and N.
