Dimapur - House gutted, 4 families affected

One house was gutted in a fire incident at Duncan Bosti on August 12. According to the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), a tin-roof bamboo house, including two shops at the front, was completely gutted.


The house had 4 families but there was no report of any human casualty. Stating that they received information of the fire at around 1:50pm, the F&ES said that it took 2 fire trucks and 12 firemen around 30 minutes to douse the flames. Electrical fault was attributed to have caused the fire.


Power cut to half of Duncan Bosti

Meanwhile, power supply to half of Duncan Bosti was cut subsequent to the fire. A Power department official said that supply to the area was cut during the fire but it could not be resumed to a section of the locality. The official added that work was on to detect the fault. Supply was yet to resume at 11:00 pm.
