District Level Credit Camp held at RD Block Kubolong

Mokokchung, February 6 (MExN): A one-day District Level Credit Camp in coincidence with launching event of ‘Lakhpati Didi’ by Prime Minister of India was held at RD Block Kubolong under Mokokchung district on February 4.

The camp was organised by the District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) Mokokchung under Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM). The main objective of the credit camp was to promote and encourage Self Help Group (Women) members to take up individual enterprise through availing loans from banks so as to alleviate their livelihoods as well as to make them economically stable.

Kheza Kin, Branch Manager, Central Bank of India, Kubolong, highlighted on how to avail loans, the various products of loans and encouraged the SHGs to utilise the loans in the right way. A total of 13 SHGs under Kubolong block was handed loan sanctions by the Branch Manager, CBI Kubolong.

Pursenla, Field Officer, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Mokokchung, acknowledged the NSRLM as the only Mission that is successful and delivering from the grassroot level. She challenged the SHGs to come together and work as one so as to bring about changes in the community. She encouraged the SHGs to continue on availing loans and to maintain proper loan recovery. 

Mongchen Aier, District Coordinator (Financial Inclusion) highlighted on the status of Mokokchung district. He informed that a total of 760 SHGs have availed loan from different Banking Institutes across Mokokchung district. Till date there are 1283 SHGs under Mokokchung district with over 9000 SHG members.

The programme was chaired by Limasunep, Area Coordinator (Financial Inclusion). Introductory address was delivered by Subotula, Block Program Manager, RD Block Kubolong.
