ZUNHEBOTO, MAY 28 (MExN): The District No Tobacco Club was launched today at the Cornerstone Higher Secondary School Zunheboto with the Motto ‘Rejuvenation’. 

The club officially comprises members from three schools i.e Cornerstone Hr Sec School, Immanuel Higher Secondary School and Olympic Higher Secondary School. The main motive of the club is to create awareness about the harmful impact of tobacco and to encourage and stop people from consuming addictive and harmful tobacco. 

Dr Esther Chopy Ngullie, special guest of the event spoke on the importance and advantages of leaving tobacco substances. She appreciated the students for setting up such club in the district, the one among the first club in the entire state. Giving example of the tobacco patients she spoke about the harmful effects of consuming tobacco and how it can cause deadly diseases. She encouraged the club to organise the awareness programs in the district to make people aware of all the harmful impact of tobacco. 

Vito Achumi, Associate Pastor, while speaking at the event appreciated the students for taking up such good initiatives and said that even the churches are trying to create awareness on tobacco and that the club may collaborate with the church to organize such events. He also talked about how addictive tobacco substances can be and said that people should stay away from all these substances. 

Later a special song was presented by Naga Kheks and the inaugural program ended with some refreshment.
