DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 3 (MExN): Dimapurians have been directed, again, to obtain necessary application forms from the engineering wing of the Dimapur Municipal Council for issue of permit if they so desire to demolish, erect or construct, or if they are likely to commence erection or construction of any type of building, within the civic body’s jurisdiction. Permits are also to be obtained for buildings already under construction.
“Any party found to be constructing any type of building without having valid construction permit is illegal and may invite legal action against such persons under provision of Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001,” DMC chairperson Y Vikheho Awomi said in a notification.
In exercise of the powers conferred to the urban local bodies and in pursuance of a Nagaland government notification, and as envisaged in the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001, any person (s) organization, institution or government department are to obtain permission for any building construction or demolition from the municipality.
