DRDA Longleng holds coordination meet

Longleng, December 16 (MExN): The District Rural Development Agency, Longleng conducted a coordination meeting under Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) on December 15 at DC’s Conference Hall, Longleng. A report from the DPRO, Longleng stated that addressing the coordination meeting the ADC Longleng, Temsuwati appealed to all the line departments under the GPDP to have a proper coordination to ensure effective implementation of various projects and schemes for the benefit of the rural masses. Asserting that the GPDP is a ‘People’s Plan Campaign’ and its primary objective is targeted to uplift the bottom up policy of the Government he urged the line departments to consult and coordinate with every village council while framing the proposal. He stated that every village has their own priority therefore; every proposal must be done according to the needs and desire of the people at the grass root level and not as desire by the department, he added. In his Keynote address Shashi Kant, NLM said that Gram Panchayat Development Plan is a people’s plan targeted for the next financial year 2019-2020. It aims to strengthen the role of the village council and its campaign has started from October 2-December 31. Therefore, special efforts must be made to ensure maximum participation of vulnerable sections of society, he maintained. He said that under GPDP, the village councils have a significant role to play in effective and efficient implementation of flagship schemes for transformation of rural India. The GDPD is an intensive and structured exercise for planning at Gram Sabha level through convergence between the village institutions and concerned departments of the State aimed to develop the rural mass. He urged all the line departments to submit all proposals at the earliest as per the instructions and guidelines of the GPDP. The highlights of the GPDP implementation were proposed by Smti. Choimei DRP, GPDP, DRDA Longleng. The meeting was chaired by T. Kitatemsu, DPO DRDA, Longleng who also proposes the welcome note and suggested measures for effective implementation of the GPDP. The meeting concluded with discussion and clarification of doubts by the officers and representatives of the line department. The meeting was attended by the officers of line department and rural development agency.
