EEMC training for candidates at Bhandari

Wokha, February 14 (DIPR): Additional Deputy Commissioner and RO 40A/C Bhandari, Tiameren Chang, conducted Election Expenditure Monitoring Training for candidates and main agents on February 13 at the ADC Conference Hall, Bhandari.  

In the training he highlighted on the rules and procedures laid down under the directives of the Election Commission of India and the Model Code of Conduct under which the Electioneering Process will be carried out.He also stressed on acquisition of permission and exemption of Vehicles for use for the purpose of election.  

The RO also made it a point that permission and No Objection Certificate should be obtained from him for all Campaign related programmes such as rally and meeting by Candidates, Political parties or star campaigner within the 40A/ Constituency.  

Reminding that every expenditure reflected on a candidate will be routed from the amount of the Candidate’s separate bank account, he advised them to carefully and diligently maintain that account. He also stated that since time schedule is provided in a systematic manner for each candidate for expenditure monitoring updates, he urged the Candidates/Agents to observe and submit their expected expenditure updates on the scheduled time without fail.  

During the training, SDPO Bhandari, LanuAier, spoke on liability and penalty on purchasing of vote which may attract punishment under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The RO reminded the Candidates/Agents and party workers present in the training to co-ordinate, update or place queries relating to election matters through the designated officials who are available any time.
