‘End Malaria for Good’

Malaria Elimination programme launched in Phek

Phek, October 30 (MExN): Malaria Elimination programme for Phek district was formally launched by Kovi Meyase, Deputy Commissioner of Phek at DC conference hall here on October 27 under the theme ‘End Malaria for Good.’  

Kovi Meyase opined that under the stewardship of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) and in collaboration with various stakeholders the goal of eliminating malaria from the district can be achieved. He urged the department to intensify sensitizing and awareness program to the community. Dr. Keholi, DVBO, Phek presented the overview of national framework for malaria elimination and the epidemiologist of the district.  

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Sedeu Rupreo, District Program Manager, NHM and vote of thanks was delivered by Khrusayi Khamo, District Consultant, NVBDCP Phek. The program was attended by the departments of CDPO, DWO, Fishery, NGO, NVBDCP staffs from all the blocks and staffs of CMO Phek.
