Following 9/11, do you think the US has done enough to fight global terrorism?

Those who voted ‘YES’ had to say:

•    Because they are one of the developed countries and in every person they have the spirit of patriotism.

•    Much is done in the name of terrorism for their political gain only

Those who voted ‘NO’ had to say:

•    I don’t see any good reason as to why anyone should feel that America is fighting for the cause the Nations psyched out by terrorism?

Americas ‘War Against Terrorism’, as they claim, should be understood by all that it is rather an attempt for the expansion of the American Empire in the first place, and second, nothing else. Think about the current scenario in India and Lebanon. Has the US taken any measure to stop Pakistan from bombing India or, for that matter, Israel’s attack against Lebanon? In fact, the words ‘Patriotism’ and ‘United We Stand’, has gone up the heads of every American that they want to make sure everything they do serves the interest of their country alone, and to be concerned about the rest of the world would be the last thing in their minds.

So much against terrorism? And here’s what America herself did. Read on... Thousands in Afghanistan died from American bombs. How many do you think had any part in the events of 9-11? The answer? Zero. The terrible conditions of the prisoners held up at the Guantanamo base in Cuba, for a very long time now, with no end in sight, with many attempts at suicide. The United States bombed Panama only weeks after the Berlin Wall fell. The US shamelessly intervened in the election in Nicaragua to defeat the Sandinistas. When Albania and Bulgaria dared to elect governments not acceptable to Washington, Washington just stepped in and overthrew those governments.

Soon came the bombing of the people of Iraq for 40 horrible days without mercy, for no good or honest reason, and that was that for their hopes of a different and better world. They were soon off attacking Somalia, more bombing and killing. Meanwhile they continued bombing Iraq for years. Then they bombed the people of Yugoslavia for 78 days and nights. And once again, in the year 2001, the US grossly and openly intervened in an election in Nicaragua to prevent the left from winning. All these years, they’re still keeping their choke hold on Cuba. From 1945 to the end of the century, the United States attempted to overthrow more than 40 foreign governments, and to crush more than 30 populist movements fighting against insufferable regimes. In the process, the US bombed about 25 countries, caused the end of life for several million people, and condemned many millions more to a life of agony and despair.  And the story goes on and on... Well, what do you have to say?

•  No, they have only contributed towards more insecurity in the name of terrorism, the US is destroying the world

•  No, but they’ve done enough to inflame and breed more with their total disregard for rights of others and for international laws, for the unlawful military invasion of countries (mostly Islamic) and toppling of governments that are disagreeable to them.

Those who voted ‘MAYBE’ had to say:

•  Maybe, today’s question sort of endorses the INFALLIBILITY of US action. My humble opinion is that, the poll could have taken on the ‘propriety’ of US strikes, rather than on the ‘degree’ and expanse of infliction it has perpetrated.

•    It is a difficult poll question to vote for because the question could have been posed differently. I don’t agree at all with the US policy against terrorism. In fact, in the name of the war against terrorism, the US itself has become the terrorist and is responsible for causing lot of terror for the common people in the Middle East.

Other comments:

•    Sorry, you got the question wrong. The US has been acting selfishly for its own interest ever since it started the war against terrorism, and look what we have now. Now, we have so many wars going on, all because of the wrong policy of the US
