Kohima, April 20 (MExN): The Food Safety Administration, Kohima Zone, organised a Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) programme for Food Business Operators (FBOs) in coordination with FSSAI empanelled training partner M/s Aroma Shiksha Evam Seva Samithi, Korba, Chhattisgarh.
According to a press release from the Food Safety Administration, the training was conducted from April 14 to 17, covering the districts of Tseminyu, Wokha, and Kohima. The FBOs trained during the programme included those operating hotels, restaurants, manufacturing units, and home-based food businesses.
The sessions were conducted by Dr. Anup Kumar Tiwari, an empanelled trainer with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
On the final day of the programme, State Programme Officer (Food Safety), Dr. John Kemp, and Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety, Merenlemba Ao, attended the first session and exhorted the participants.
The training was aimed at enhancing food safety awareness and practices among FBOs in the region.
