Free cleft lips & palate operation in Nagaland

Kohima, November 17 (MExN): People with cleft lips and palate in Nagaland availed free surgery during the 32nd mission Nagaland held at Oking Hospital, Kohima from November 15 to 17.  

The doctors from Shija Group of Hospitals, Imphal successfully operated cleft lips and palate across Nagaland and even operated one Myanmar-Naga, said Dr. Kh. Palin, Smile Train surgeon from Shija Hospital group.  

Maintaining that there would be about 3300 cleft patients in Nagaland, he asserted to provide even travelling allowance to patients coming from far off villages.  

So far, Smile Train Cleft Shija Project under Mission Nagaland, in collaboration with Oking Hospital Kohima, covered more than 600 cleft patients in Nagaland, said Dr. Palin. He said the treatment will be absolutely free including free medicines, free operation, and travelling allowance.  

He also informed that the next free camp will be announced in the month of February 2018.
