‘Full immunization is the birthright of every child’

IMI launched in Kiphire

Kiphire, October 11 (MExN): “Full immunization is the birthright of every child,” said Dr. C. Tsenthungo Patton, Chief Medical Officer, Kiphire as he launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush on October 9 for Kiphire District.

Medonguno M.Chasie, District Media Officer, CMO Office, Kiphire in a press release stated that a total of 32 session sites in 3 blocks under Kiphire District have been identified for the Mission. These are sites with low immunization coverage with no health centres. According to headcount 333 children (0-2 years) and all pregnant mothers are targeted to be fully immunized by this Mission under the district so as to achieve 90% full immunization by December 2018.  

An IMI training combined with BRIDGE was conducted for the ANMs assigned for IMI duty by Dr. Rebecca Y Sema (DPO RCH-UIP) on October 3, 2017 at District Hospital Hall. This was followed by District Task Force meeting held under the chairmanship of Dr. C. Tsenthungo Patton, CMO on account of Intensified Mission Indradhanush at CMO Office Kiphire on October 5, 2017.

With a special focus on high priority districts and urban areas under IMI, four consecutive immunization rounds will be conducted for 7 days in 173 districts and 17 cities in 16 states and 52 districts in 8 north eastern states including Nagaland.
