Girl’s dead body found, murder suspected

The body of an unidentified girl was found in Kohima on November 13. The body was found within the premises of the Dr. Neilhozhü Kire GHSS (Government Higher Secondary School), Seikhazou, Kohima this morning.

 

The police suspect it to be murder. The Kohima police PRO informed that the body was discovered around 9:50 am, November 13 in an under-construction building within the school campus. Blunt trauma was evident on the face, the PRO said, while adding that the police were awaiting the post-mortem report.

 

No personal credential was found to help determine identity of the victim believed to have have 15-17 years of age. “Any person, relatives or community members known to the deceased may contact North Police Station, Kohima for more information,” added the PRO in a press release.

 

Meanwhile, the school authority of Dr. Neilhozhü Kire GHSS urged the law enforcement agencies to investigate the “heinous crime” and book the culprits without delay.

 

The school’s principal, in a press release, said that its staffers and students strongly condemn the “brutal murder.” “Such acts of barbarity in an educational institution calls for strong condemnation by all right thinking citizens,” stated the release.
