Guitarist Imnainla Jamir is Global Ambassador of MasterPeace

Celebrated guitarist Imnainla Jamir was invited as a Global Ambassador, MasterPeace COOLeaders at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima on December 27. 

MasterPeace is an international, multi-award-winning, positive grassroots network of NGOs, social enterprises, partner organizations, active citizens and artists that make the difference locally; at school, in the streets and in the communities. From Kathmandu, Nairobi and Utrecht to Medellin, MasterPeace is active in more than 45 countries. It’s headquarter is based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. 

Founder & Artistic Director at Culture Monks Sudipta Dawn who represented MasterPeace at the launching programme said they came to know about of Imnainla Jamir from her iconic rendition of the Indian National Anthem at the Hornbill Festival in 2022. Her performance touched the hearts and soul of a nation and she has become since a household name across the country known for her musical skills and presence, Dawn stated. 

He said MasterPeace reached out to Imnainla Jamir through Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) to contribute her great talent and outreach towards the purpose of climate action and social change and to become the Global Ambassador, MasterPeace COOLeaders. 

“We are so happy that she readily agreed to explore how she can through her music carry the message and of taking responsibility of the future of this planet and our societies, to the youth around India and around the world. Through this process, she will be connecting with various artists and institutions around the world and we sincerely hope that this experience will enrich her as an artist, youth leader and as a person,” Dawn stated. 

TaFMA chairman Theja Meru said, “This is a celebration of her life, and what can happen when we work hard, dedicate our lives to our skills and to our arts and that no matter where we are from, no matter which part of the world, the district, or state we are from, if we dream big, and have the right attitude, the world is our stage, and Imnainla Jamir is one such example.”

Imnainla Jamir said she was honoured to be considered by MasterPeace to represent them as one of their Global Ambassador. “I am excited for what lies ahead. I look forward to doing projects to build a better, cleaner and healthier earth. I would like to spread awareness on climate change through music,” Jamir stated. “Climate change is real and it needs everyone to get involved,” she added.
