High Court Kohima Bench connected with e-Sewa Kendra

In a welcome development, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench has been connected with e-Sewa Kendra today. It was inaugurated by Rashmin Manharbhai Chhaya, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh in the presence of Justice Lanusungkum Jamir, judge, Gauhati High Court and Justice Kakheto Sema, judge, Gauhati High Court.

e-Sewa Kendra is primarily a one stop- centre for rendering hassle free services to the litigants.

It enables litigants and lawyers and interested public to obtain information with respect to case status and to obtain copies of judgments and orders in paperless format.

These centres will extend assistance in e-filling of cases and guide people on how to avail free legal services.

Talking to media persons after the inauguration, Amento Assumi, programmer, HC Computer Section, Kohima Bench informed that e-Sewa Kendras shall initially roll out following services for litigants and lawyers.

It includes; handling inquiries about case status, next date of hearing and other details, facilitate online applications for certified copies, facilitate e-filing of petitions right from the scanning of hard copy petitions, appending e-signatures, uploading them onto CIS and generation of filing number.

It also to assist in online purchase of e-Stamp papers/e-Payments, to help in applying and obtaining Aadhaar based digital signature, publicise and assist in downloading the Mobile App of e-Courts for Android and IOS, facilitate in the booking of e-Mulakat appointments for meeting relatives in jail, handling queries about Judges on leave, guide people on how to avail free legal services from the District Legal Service Authority, High Court Legal Service Committee and Supreme Court Legal Service Committee, facilitate disposal of traffic challan in virtual Courts as also online compounding of traffic challans and other petty offence etc.
