23-year-old Hikali Achumi from Zunheboto was crowned the coveted title of Miss Nagaland 2022 tonight at a grand ceremony presented by the Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland at Capital Cultural Centre, Kohima. She walked away with a cash prize of Rupees One lakh along with gift hampers.
She was earlier asked in what role does man add most to a woman. To this, she answered that “every role of man is important to a woman and it differs from person to person but what I am is because of my father's love, prayers and affection.” She went on to say that her father has raised her to become ‘successful’ while expressing, “the role of a father adds most to my life.”
She was also asked why she deserves to win the title wherein she stated her belief that she can be the virtuous example of women. “I can be that voice,” she said.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Kenei Ritse from Phek and 21-year-old Jentiren from Mokokchung were adjudged first runner-up and second runner-up respectively. They were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000 along with gift hampers.
Judges for Miss Nagaland 2022 were Irene Dkhar (Guest Judge), Miss North East 2022, Miss Meghalaya 2022, Eshanee Hatimuria (Guest Judge), Miss North East 2022 First Runner-up, Miss Assam 2022, Dr. Abeny Khuvung, Miss Diva Universe Finalist East Zone 2014, Miss Nagaland 2013 first runner-up, Miss Wokha 2013, Lhouvi Mezhur, Entreprenuer & Manager, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, and Theja Therieh, Proprietor, Multiplex & former BASN Treasurer.
