ICFAI University holds competition, webinar

Chümoukedima, March 3 (MExN): A Photography and Extempore Speech competition, as well as a webinar, were held at the ICFAI University on February 27 and 29, respectively.

According to a release from the institution, the ICFAI History Department organized the Photography and Extempore Speech competition on February 29, focusing on the themes "A Glimpse into Our World" and "Inspire People with Your Art." 

During the event, Dr Saundarjya Borbora, Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI University Nagaland, encouraged students to stay informed about current issues and topics, commending them for their active participation.  A total of 28 students participated in the competition, with Avipra emerging as the winner of the Extempore Speech competition and Khriephrenuo Tachü claiming victory in the Photography competition.

Meanwhile, on February 27, the Department of Library & Information Science conducted a webinar with Dr. Somipam R. Shimray, Assistant Professor in the Department of Library & Information Science at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, as the guest speaker. 

Speaking on "Research Ethics: Key Consideration," he explained reasons behind conducting research and the ethical and moral principles involved. Dr

Somipam highlighted areas of research ethics and misconduct, discussed levels of plagiarism, the associated penalties, and briefed participants on the peer-review process. 

The participants were also enlightened with case studies on ethical violation and ethical decisions.
