All borders in Phek district sealed
Phek, March 26 (MExN): Minister for planning and coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs Neiba Kronu today informed that all the borders in Phek district had been sealed. Kronu along with Kazheto Kinimi, advisor CAWD and NSDMA have been assigned by chief minister to monitor measures to prevent and control Covid-19 in Phek district. Kronu said that there are shortages of medical equipments including PPE so he had raised the matter with the highest authority in a meeting today chaired by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in Kohima.
PTCSU calls for public cooperation
The Phek Town Chakhesang Students Union (PTCSU) has requested and advised the general public and citizens of Phek Town to cooperate with and follow the directions given by the government in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A press release from PTCSU Press Secretary, Diezekho Vadeo and Srhoveyi Khesoh President, PTCSU urged the public not to panic in buying essential commodities as there are sufficient stock in the market.
The union also asked the shopkeepers not to sell goods above MRP. If found, the concerned authority will take strict action upon them, it warned.
PTCSU also appealed to the concerned authority to set a time to open shops/market in order to secure public movement. It also insisted that strict maintenance of public movement be followed. Those emergency travellers coming from outside the district or state have been advised not to enter without proper verification from medical department /concerned authority. The Union cautioned social media users not to disseminate any fake news or information, unless it is verified by Department of Health and Family Welfare,State Government or newspapers. The PTCSU also assured its help and assistance as and when required.
