Kohima, November 30 (MExN): The Kohima Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) today stated that the 2023 edition of Hornbill Night Carnival from December 1-10 is planned with a difference, specialising in providing quality attractions to those visiting the State's premier festival.
It is also about lighting up the festive mood of families, friends, and neighbours enjoying different ethnic cuisine and festive moments; hence the Hornbill Night Carnival organising committee has put much emphasis on pricing, it said.
Accordingly, the KCCI stated that rates and price regulation had been put in place to discourage exorbitant charges on food and beverages, gaming, and other items up for sale.
"The organising committee cautions all the vendors not to charge exorbitant prices, violation of which will invite a penalty of monetary fine and cancellation of the trading license," it added.
Every service or item on offer within the night carnival should not exceed the available regular market price, ensuring that the carnival is economically friendly to the revellers and creating a win-win situation for all stakeholders, the committee stated.
The aim is to promote the night carnival market as a healthy and vibrant precursor for the festive season that is ensuing in the long run, it added.
Meanwhile, the KCCI has extended an invitation to all foreign and local tourists, individuals, groups, and families to come and witness the Hornbill Night Carnival and enjoy the festive month to the fullest.
