The 16th Football Mongmong tournament which kicked off on August 23 culminated here on September 6 with Young 11 lifting the winning trophy after defeating United Vikings FC. The finals was graced by Hobbs Thonger, President, BJP Kiphire District as the special guest at Local ground Kiphire attended by more than 5000 football lovers.
In his address, Hobbs Thonger he said sports not only bring people together but help Society grow together as one. He called upon players to take the opportunity to build relationship and learn from one another.
Delivering short speech, P. Achumse Sangtam, General Secretary, United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) stated that tournament such as this help youngsters mould their talent at the see them keeping mental and physical health healthy. He also said tournament was a great tribute to Late Sepithong Sangtam who was a tall leader among Sangtam and tournament as this is a benefitting tribute to a dynamic leader.
In an exciting grand finale Young 11 defeated United Vikings FC in a penalty by scoring 5 goals to 4 goals.
Short speech was also delivered by Sepikyu Sangtam President USSC. Programme was chaired by Tsapichum Sangtam, while special no perform by Albert Jinger Vocalist SNF.
