The 2nd annual general meeting of Zikeh Block Level Federation, Kiphire block was held at Hopongkyu memorial hall on May 28. The programme promoted by Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), Kiphire was attended by SHG from 22 villages, Agri & allied department, and well wishers.

Speaking at the meeting, Senti Longchar, District Horticulture officer called upon the SHGs to learn from each other so that the district economy is uplifted and the live of livelihood will be improved. Assuring his help to the federation, he said, “We need to work hard and get oneself involved to be self sustainable.”

NStCB Kiphire Branch Manager Temsunungsang while speaking at the occasion disclosed that the district branch has made a profit of 39 lakhs in the last year. “This year the profit has increased to 66 lakhs which is all because of the involvement of SHGs in the branch,” he added.

Lipichem, District Project officer, Department of Land Resources called upon the SHGs present to be sincere, dedicated and hard working which is the primary goal if one has to be successful. Sharing his observation he said, “The district is full of resources be it agricultural or natural resources” and asked the SHGs to “take advantage of this so that the economy of the district improved with the growth of SHGs.” 

Sharing knowledge, experience and learning should take place through this platform and called upon the members present not only to focus for economic growth but also social growth, peace and harmony through this platform, he added. 

Ripise, Block Program manager, Kiphire block while giving keynote address said there are 195 SHGs with 1515 members enrolled in this federation. He also presented PPT of various works and activities of the SHGs. 

Esther Francis Sangtam from Linsi SHG ANatongre, Sethsala from Kisetong SHG also shared ther experience involving in SHG. Shawuh Village level Organization (VLO), Pungrungru village, Anatongre village VLO, kiphire village VLO and Phelungre village VLO presented special song and folk song. 

In business hour reading of Block Level Federation resolution, audit reports were also discussed.
