Kohima, July 20 (MExN): Kohima College (KC) held a programme to welcome its new Principal, Dr Ralimongla on July 20.
A press release issued by the Mass Media Cell, KC stated that Dr Ralimongla had been serving in the Dept of Geology, Kohima Science College, for over thirty years, and in addition to her teaching assignments, she was a member of the Research and Consultation Committee and the College Journal, and served as Convener of the Anti-Sexual Harassment and the Event Management, KSC. Her extension services included her being a regular Paper Presenter for Science programmes to All India Radio, a Counselor for families of substance abuse and Member of the Governing Board, People’s College, Mokokchung.
Dr Ralimongla addressed the gathering of faculty, ministerial staff and student council, and stated that it is a significant day for her as precisely 40 years ago, on this very day (July 20, 1979), she joined Kohima Science College as a student, and after completion of her studies, she taught in the same institution for over 30 years. She added that it is a significant coincidence that the day was also her birthday. She thanked the faculty, staff and students for their warm welcome and stated that she was touched by the kind gesture. She further laued them and also the senior teachers and staff who have retired, for the efforts and sacrifices they made.I came to the college with a great determination and to serve with commitment, and to do the best ability,she said. The Programme was chaired by Keneilesa Neikha, HOD, Department of History and President, KCTA. Welcome addresses were delivered by Thinuokhrienuo, Vice Principal, KC and Moanungla Kevichusa, HOD, English Department.
