Kohima, August 31 (MExN): Kohima Police manning the Peducha check gate while conducting routine checking and frisking duties recovered a stolen vehicle on Wednesday night. According to a press release from the Kohima Police PRO, the car – a Hyundai Santro – tried to forcibly flee but the alert sentry on duty took position in the middle of road and managed to stop the car at gun point.
The said car bore registration number NL07C-1661 but during verification, the vehicle was found to be stolen vide Gorchuk PS Guwahati, Assam FIR No. 0478/2014 and the original registration number of the vehicle as per the status of NCRB database is AS23F-1152. The driver of the vehicle identified as one Kejing (45 yrs) was taken into police custody and a regular case under the IPC was registered against him for conducting further investigation.
