The kick off programme of adoption of Pfuchatsumia Khel of Kohima village under Village Adoption Committee (VAC) for 10-Northern Angami-I Assembly Constituency took place today at P. Khel Council Hall, Kohima village.
Local MLA and School Education & SCERT Advisor, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome addressed the gathering and hoped that the departments as part of VAC would work together is cohesion with P. Khel Council.
Dr Yhome expressed optimism that the VAC activities would percolate down to other three khels of Kohima village following the successful implementation in P. Khel. He also expressed his administration for P. Khel Council keeping the development of the Khel above individual interest.
Through this village adoption programme for the year 2023-24, Dr Yhome handed over agri farm machineries- tractor, 3 power tillers and 2 grass cutters to P. Khel Council for promotion of agricultural activities through VAC.
Dr Riku Khutso, EAC & Convenor VAC informed that under this project, 10 departments have come together to work for the welfare of P. Khel. In this, he sought the support and cooperation of the P. Khel Council towards its success. He also informed that the VAC in consultation with the Council would come out with an action plan for various activities.
Dr Menuosietuo Tseikha, District Project Officer, Land Resource Department Kohima shared the purpose of village adoption system and also about the projects available under the department.
P. Khel Council Chairman, Kelhousietuo Rutsa delivered welcome address and appreciated Dr Yhome for choosing P. Khel to be first in Kohima village under VAC. He also lauded him for handing over agri farm machinery through the Rural Development Department to P. Khel Council.
The concerned departments as part of VAC includes; Kohima Municipal Council Administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer, Executive Engineer PHED (Urban) Kohima Neilhoukholie Chielie, Chief Veterinary Officer Kohima Dr Rokozo Dolie, Functional Manager DIC Kohima Jessy Jurry, Assistant Controller LMCP Shiloh Kath, Welfare Inspector of Department of Social Welfare Zahebeituo Kire and JE in BDO Kohima Imnatuba Jamir.
The concerned departments assured to extend all possible support and also to effectively implement the centrally sponsored schemes and state government schemes in P. Khel.
