New Delhi, May 26 (MExN): The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has recorded its highest-ever annual sales of Rs 1,87,105 crore in the financial year 2025-26, according to provisional data released by the Commission on Tuesday.
The KVIC, under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, stated that the achievement reflects significant growth in the Khadi and village industries sector over the past 12 years.
Releasing the provisional figures at KVIC’s office in New Delhi, KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar said the sector registered a 501 per cent increase in sales, 380 per cent growth in production, and 56 per cent rise in employment generation compared to 2013-14.
According to the data, production of Khadi and village industry products increased from Rs 26,109 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 1,25,296 crore in 2025-26, while cumulative employment rose from 1.30 crore to 2.04 crore during the same period.
The Commission stated that Khadi textile production reached Rs 3,974 crore in 2025-26, while sales rose to Rs 7,869 crore. Village industries alone accounted for Rs 1,79,236 crore in sales during the financial year.
Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), KVIC informed that 66,494 new units were established during 2025-26 with loans amounting to Rs 7,375 crore, generating employment for over 7.31 lakh people.
The Commission also highlighted increased participation of women in the sector, stating that women accounted for around 59 per cent of trainees under various KVIC training programmes during the year.
