Chizami, September 27 (MExN): Li Cheh Kro Weavers’ Producer Company Limited Common Facility Centre (CFC), funded by NABARD and implemented by North East Network (NEN) was inaugurated at Chizami village, Phek on September 27. 

The Common Facility Centre (CFC) constructed to function as a training-cum-production centre was inaugurated by Imsunaro DDM, Phek, NABARD, stated a press release issued by the NEN. 

Imsunaro congratulated the weavers on the completion of CFC and acknowledged the effort of the implementing agency, NEN. She encouraged the weavers by mentioning that Li Cheh Kro is the first registered Weaver-Producer Company in Nagaland. The DDM stated that the project is promoted with a large scope that will not only benefit the present shareholders but also the future generations. 

She appealed to the weavers to continue with its exploration in natural fiber as it is in high demand in the global market. 

She appreciated the shareholders from all six locations, namely Chizami Town, villages of Chizami, Enhulumi, Mesulumi, Sumi and Thetsumi, who developed sample products using natural fibers and exhibited at the inaugural function. 

Post-lunch, a workshop was conducted for the weavers by NEN members, Wekoweu Tsuhah and Vilazonuo on Sustainable Livelihoods, Health and Nutrition. 

On behalf of the implementing agency NEN, State Coordinator, Wekoweu Tsuhah acknowledged the donors, shareholders of the Producer Company, community and well wishers for their effort and contribution towards the CFC. Diwetso Lohe, Pastor, Sumi Baptist Church pronounced the prayer of dedication. 

On the same day, the Li Cheh Kro Weavers’ Producer Company Limited conducted its 2nd Annual General Meeting. It may be mentioned that the Li Cheh Kro Weavers’ Producer Company Limited was registered on September 29, 2021 under section 25 of Indian Companies Act, 1956.

The main objective of the company is to conduct business of producing, aggregating, collecting, grading, storage, pooling, handling, processing, branding, packing, labeling, retailing, marketing and distributing handicraft raw materials.
